Database of descriptions, photographs, and classifications of the world's mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, sharks, bony fish, molluscs, arthropods, and echinoderms, searchable by common or scientific name. BIOSIS Previews
The BIOSIS Previews database is the electronic version of Biological Abstracts, the largest printed reference publication for life sciences research information, and Biological Abstracts/RRM (Reports, Reviews, Meetings), the companion printed reference to books, meetings, and research reviews. All life science areas are covered, including traditional biology (botany, ecology, zoology), interdisciplinary subjects (biochemistry, biomedicine, and biotechnology), and related areas such as instrumentation and methods. Contains bibliographic information of up to 18 million records, dating from 1926 to the present.

LBL ITG Whole Frog Project
The Whole Frog project is intended to introduce the concepts of computer based 3D visualisation and to demonstrate the power of whole body, 3D imaging of anatomy as a curriculum tool. It aims to offer biology students the ability to explore the anatomy of a frog and visualize the anatomical structures of the intact animal.by using data from high resolution MRI imaging, mechanical sectioning, 3D surface and volume rendering.

Species 2000
A "federation" of database organisations working closely with users, taxonomists and sponsoring agencies.The goal of the Species 2000 project is to create a validated checklist of all the world's species (plants, animals, fungi and microbes). This is being achieved by bringing together an array of global species databases covering each of the major groups of organisms. Each database covers all known species in the group, using a consistent taxonomic system.
