American Statistical Association Survey Research Methods Section
Aims to promote the improvement of survey practice and the understanding of survey methods by encouraging theoretical and applied research on survey related topics and by disseminating information on survey methods.
     Author: American Statistical Association
     Subjects: research methods, statistical methods
     DeweyClass: 001.42
     Resource type: documents
Computational Statistics With Applications
Concerned with the use of computers in statistical data analysis. Statistical procedures are illustrated using the widely available, commercial statistical software packages, such as SPSS and SAS. This site also references tools that can be found on the Internet.
     Author: Arsham, Hossein
     Subjects: computational mathematics, statistical methods
     DeweyClass: 519.5
     Resource type: guide
Concepts and Applications of Inferential Statistics
Interactive textbook for students of introductory statistics. Contains chapters on the principles of measurement, distributions, correlation and regression, statistical significance, probability, Chi-square procedures, t-tests, and analysis of variance.
     Author: Lowry, Richard
     Subjects: statistical methods
     DeweyClass: 519.5
     Resource type: guide, non-fiction ebook
EstimateS: Statistical Estimation of Species Richness
EstimateS is a statistical application designed for computing species richness from sample data. It computes randomised species accumulation curves, statistical estimators of true species richness and a statistical estimator of the true number of species shared between pairs of samples. This free software is available for Macintosh, Windows 95 and Windows NT and includes a user guide.
     Author: Colwell, Robert K.
     Subjects: statistical methods
     DeweyClass: 001.422
     Resource type: documents, software
Guide to the International Banking Statistics
Offers definitions and guidelines for the reporting of statistical banking data, and provides an account of current country practices regarding the coverage and disaggregation of reported data. Offered as a PDF file, the report also includes a glossary of key terms.
     Author: Bank for International Settlements
     Subjects: banking, statistical methods
     DeweyClass: 332.1
     Resource type: document
Intute: social sciences - statistics and data
Set of links to selected collections of statistics and to resources relevant to statistical analysis.
     Author: Intute
Subjects: statistical methods, world economic data
     DeweyClass: 310

     Resource type: documents
Q Method Page
Software, data set archive and explanation of Q methodology, which was invented in 1935 by British physicist-psychologist William Stephenson (1953) and is most often associated with quantitative analysis due to its involvement with factor analysis.

     Subjects: statistical methods
     DeweyClass: 001.422
     Resource type: documents, software
Social Statistics - School of Social Sciences, University of Southampton
Research centre which provides a focus for research on survey and census data analysis. Research addresses methodological aspects of survey data analysis and the application of innovative analytical methods to survey data in substantive contexts. Abstracts of technical reports are available online.
Author: Social Statistics, University of Southampton
