Jodrell Bank Observatory
The Nuffield Radio Astronomy Laboratories at Jodrell Bank are home to some of Britain's major astronomical research facilities, including the 76-metre Lovell Telescope, and MERLIN, a synthetic-aperture radio telescope operated on behalf of PPARC.
Author: Manchester University Department of Physics and Astronomy
Subjects: astronomy research, radio astronomy, space observation
     DeweyClass: 520
     Resource type: documents
Major Radio Telescopes
Links to worldwide radio telescope sites.
     Author: SETI League
     Subjects: radio astronomy, space observation
     DeweyClass: 522.682
     Resource type: index
Project Phoenix
Comprehensive search project to detect extraterrestrial civilizations by listening for radio signals that are either being deliberately beamed or are inadvertently transmitted from another planet. Between 1995 and 2004, Phoenix was the successor to the ambitious NASA SETI program that was cancelled in 1993.
     Author: SETI Institute
     Subjects: extraterrestrial life, radio astronomy
     DeweyClass: 999
     Resource type: documents
Radio Pulsar Newsletter
Newsletter containing abstracts of recently submitted or accepted papers in the field of radio pulsar research from astronomers worldwide. An archive of previous issues is available, as well as an email version of the newsletter.
Author: Research Centre for Theoretical Astrophysics
     Subjects: pulsars, radio astronomy
     DeweyClass: 523.887
     Resource type: journal
SERENDIP: Search for Extraterrestrial Radio Emissions from Nearby Developed Intelligent Populations
An ongoing scientific research effort aimed at detecting radio signals from extraterrestrial life.
     Author: University of California Berkeley
     Subjects: extraterrestrial life, radio astronomy
     DeweyClass: 999
     Resource type: documents
SETI League: Searching for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence
A network of amateur and professional radioastronomers, radio amateurs, microwave experimenters and digital signal processing enthusiasts, who have banded together in a systematic, scientific search of the heavens to detect evidence of intelligent, extraterrestrial life. Includes information on the history of SETI activity, a bibliography of interesting publications, a SETI League Press kit and and technical manual.
     Author: SETI League
Subjects: astronomy societies, extraterrestrial life, radio astronomy
     DeweyClass: 999
     Resource type: institution
Tutorial on Radio Pulsars
A tutorial produced as part of the lecture course given to MSc students at Jodrell bank in 1996. Its content and layout follows the book by Lyne and Graham-Smith on Pulsar Astronomy in many areas.
     Author: Bell, Jon
Subjects: astronomy education, pulsars, radio astronomy, stars
     DeweyClass: 523.8
     Resource type: guide
