Ansel Adams
A photographer and conservationist, Adams composed visionary western landscapes that were inspired by a boyhood trip to Yosemite. He won three Guggenheim grants to photograph the national parks and founded the f/64 group with Edward Weston in 1932. Here, many images, a bibliography of his publications and works about Adams, as well as useful links, are provided.

Documentary Photography: Jacob Riis
A computer assisted learning program to teach the analysis of documentary photograph. Although free to install AHDS have to be contacted for a serial number, without which installation will not be possible; contact details are provided for this. Once installed, the program uses images, text and hyperlinked glossaries, leading the user through the process of analysing documentary photography from first principles, using Jacob Riis's work as an example.

Fotofest
Founded in 1983, Fotofest is a non-profit international arts and education organisation based in Houston, Texas. Its purpose is to create an international forum for the exchange of photography and ideas and to promote public appreciation of photographic art. National Media Museum

There are approximately 800,000 photographs, representing almost all historic formats such as daguerreotypes, tintypes, cartes-de-viste, ambrotypes, albumen prints, panoramas, and cyanotypes, as well as more modern colour and black and white prints, slides, and negatives.There are over 650 collections available online and each link to a photograph collection contains a photograph from the collection, bibliographic information, and a brief description of the contents.

Photographers' Gallery
Partly funded by London Arts and registered as an educational charity, the Photographers' Gallery was founded in 1971 in London and was the first independent gallery in Britain devoted to photography. The building now houses the Gallery's primary exhibition space and bookshop and is complemented by a second gallery space purchased in 1986. The Photographers' Gallery is instrumental in introducing, promoting and commissioning the work of contemporary and emerging British and international photographers.

Photographing History: Fred J. Maroon and the Nixon Years, 1970-1974
Collection of photographs by photographer Fred Maroon, who was granted access to the Nixon Whitehouse for nine months in 1970 to take photos for a behind-the-scenes book, and continued to document the administration over the next four years, culminating in the Watergate proceedings and Nixon's resignation. The photographs are grouped by chronological theme, including the re-election campaign, the Watergate hearings and the final days of the administration with explanatory text and quotes from a 1998 oral history interview with Maroon. Other features include an interactive timeline and notes on the exhibit.
