Climate of 1998 Annual Review
A textual and graphical overview of weather patterns throughout 1998. Regional and seasonal variations in the US are discussed, together with global temperatures, precipitation and natural disasters. Additional resources include archived 1998 monthly and special reports.
      Author: National Climatic Data Center
      DeweyClass: 551.6
Global Change Data and Information System
GCDIS is a cooperative activity of agencies that provides global change data to scientists and researchers, policy makers, educators, industry, and the public at large. GCDIS includes multi-disciplinary data from atmospheric science, ecology, oceanography, as well as economics and sociology.
Author: US Global Change Research Information Office
      DeweyClass: 551.6
Global Change Master Directory
An extensive source of information about satellite and in situ Earth science data, with broad coverage of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, oceans, solid earth, and biosphere.
      Author: NASA
      DeweyClass: 551.6
Goddard Distributed Active Archive Center
Provides data and related services for global change research and education. Funded through NASA's Earth Observing System (EOS) as a source of information about the upper atmosphere, atmospheric dynamics, and the global biosphere. Aims to assist the study of natural and human processes that influence Earth's climate.
      Author: NASA
      DeweyClass: 551.6
IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEAGHG)
Provides an introduction to climate change due to emissions of greenhouse gases arising from use of fossil fuels, and offers information on technical solutions. Includes full text of several reports, plus regular newsletters, and details of forthcoming events.
Author: IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme
      DeweyClass: 551.6
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
IPCC was established in 1988 by the World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations Environment Programme to assess the available scientific, technical, and socio-economic information in the field of climate change.
      Author: IPCC
      DeweyClass: 551.6
NIGEC: Midwestern Regional Center
NIGEC was established in 1990 with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Its mission is to carry out research on global environmental change. NIGEC is comprised of six regional research centers, one of which is the Midwestern Regional Center at Indiana University which examines the causes and consequences associated with global environmental change, particularly climate change due to human modification of the atmosphere. Web site provides information on research projects, and links to related sites.
Author: National Institute for Global Environmental Change

Pew Center for Global Climate Change
Centre aiming to educate the public on the problem of climate change by bringing together scientific, economic and technological expertise. Includes reports on environmnetal and economic issues, details of projects, and press releases.
Author: Pew Center for Global Climate Change
      DeweyClass: 551.6
Technologies, Policies and Measures for Mitigating Climate Change
Technical paper which provides an overview and analysis of technologies and measures to limit and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and to enhance GHG sinks under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (FCCC).
Author: Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
      DeweyClass: 551.6
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
Official UN information on global warming and emissions data, with a bibliography of technical reports, books, journal articles, conference reports and country information.

Author: US Global Change Research Information Office
      DeweyClass: 551.6
United States Global Change Research Program
Aims to provide the foundation for increasing the skill of predictions of seasonal to interannual climate fluctuations (which can bring excessively wet and dry periods) and long-term climate change.
      Author: USGCRP
      DeweyClass: 551.6
Warming of the Earth
Introduction to the issues of global warming, including scientific evidence and a discussion of effects on ecosystems, temperatures, sea levels and the hydrologic cycle.
