The Ethnologue is a catalogue of more than 6,700 languages spoken in 228 countries. The Ethnologue Name Index lists over 39,000 language names, dialect names, and alternate names. The Ethnologue Language Family Index organizes languages according to language families. The Ethnologue tries to bring together the best information available on the languages of the world. Entries represent separate languages or probable languages (highly divergent 'dialects').

TEI: Text Encoding Initiative
A consortium which collectively develops and maintains a standard for the representation of texts in digital form. Its chief deliverable is a set of Guidelines which specify encoding methods for machine-readable texts, chiefly in the humanities, social sciences and linguistics. A set of tools aimed at linguists, translators and related researchers, where pre-defined boolean logic enacted on Google searches restricts results to those derived from dictionary and other word books. Two levels of glossary search'can be selected for each language, one providing simple definitions and one that provides context and synonyms as well as direct translation. Languages covered are French, Spanish, Portuguese and English. Serendipity also offers the broader option of searching Google for any type of resource related to your search term.

The goal of the Wittgenstein Archives at the University of Bergen is to make the complete writings of Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889-1951) available in the form of electronic facsimile and transcriptions. Texts and software are at the disposal of visiting scholars or University of Bergen faculty members. The software makes it possible to present the texts in various types of fair copy and in various formats for research purposes.
