BECTA: British Educational Communications and Technology Agency
National agency which replaced NCET from April 1998. Its remit is to ensure that technology supports the DfEE's objectives to improve educational standards, to support development of the National Grid for Learning, to support the further education sector's developing use of ICT, and in the evaluation of new technologies.
