Dream of the Rood
Examines the Vercelli Book from The Dream of the Rood, widely believed to be the earliest dream-vision poem in the English language. The Vercelli Book is the most complete existing form of the poem, a manuscript of Old English prose and poetry assigned to the later half of the tenth century. The original manuscript can be viewed here, as well as a translated version with a glossary.
