Ancient Near East and the Mediterranean World
A product of digitisation and preservation initiatives by the Library of the University of Chicago. Provides digital access to a selection of the Library's renowned Ancient Near East and Classics Collections. Preserved materials relate to the study of the ancient Near East and cover such topics as the archaeology, art, history, language, law, and the religions of Sumer, Babylonia, Assyria, Egypt, Nubia, Persia, and other ancient peoples of Anatolia and the Fertile Crescent. Classics materials span the time from the rise of Bronze Age Aegean culture through the period in the Middle Ages and include volumes relating to the history, art and archaeology of the classical world. Also contains information on organising and coordinating large scale digitisation projects.

Asian Historical Architecture: Photographic Survey
Brought to fruition by a number of professors and graduate students from Columbia, Yale, and the University of Virginia in the USA, this resource provides access to a growing collection of photographic images relating to Asia's diverse architectural heritage. Offers over 6450 photos of 457 sites across seventeen countries. The resource limits photographs to those areas influenced by Buddhism, Confucianism, or Hinduism. Users can browse by country by clicking on an interactive map, before narrowing their search to cities or provinces. Several highlights among the photographic images include those locales in Afghanistan, such as the Citadel of Heart, the Borobudur temple in Indonesia, and the Great Wall at Badaling, China.

I Dig Sheffield
Provides an online guide to archaeology from the UK's Sheffield and Peak District. More than 400 objects excavated in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire have been preserved, photographed, and incorporated as part of this resource. Archaeological finds can be browsed by category, including dress and accessories, food and farming, and conflict and war. The collection can also be searched by keyword, by time period, find material and other associated archaeological characteristics.

Iraq: The Cradle of Civilization at Risk
As a consequence of extensive political upheaval and military conflict in the region, there has been great consternation about the future of antiquities and archaeological expeditions within Iraq. This resource offers an assemblage of materials gleaned from discussion boards and scholarly resources to inform users of the breadth and importance of the material reminders of those ancient civilizations located within Iraq's borders. The collection is divided into five sections, including a compilation of recent articles and documents relating to the protection of cultural property and details of ongoing archaeological projects within the country. Selected documents are also available in German and French.
